At Cultural Dance and Drum Circle, we are dedicated to preserving and promoting the unique traditions of Sri Lankan dance and drumming. Located in Clyde North VIC, our studio serves as a vibrant community hub where the ancient arts of movement and rhythm come to life.
Mission
Our mission is to safeguard the rich cultural heritage of Sri Lanka by providing a platform for learning, sharing, and appreciating its traditional dance and drum arts. We aim to inspire our students and audiences with the depth and beauty of these ancient practices.
What we offer
Traditional Dance Classes
From the elegant Kandyan dances of the highlands to the rhythmic moves of the Low Country, our dance classes cater to all ages and skill levels. Each class is a step into the past, exploring the cultural significance and artistic details of each dance form.
Drumming Classes
Learn to play traditional Sri Lankan drums such as the Geta Bera and Yak Bera from skilled masters. Our drumming classes offer both beginner and advanced lessons, focusing on technique, rhythm, and the historical context of each instrument.
Performances & Celebration
We host and perform at various cultural events, including traditional Sri Lankan ceremonies and weddings, providing authentic Poruwa ceremonies, drum orchestras, and dance performances that transport audiences to the heart of Sri Lanka.
